Role Overview:
We are currently hiring a highly skilled and motivated QA testing and test Automation engineer to join our talented engineering team. As a QA Automation test engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing automated and manual test scripts for testing highly dynamic business-oriented applications. You would be involved in developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective. Ultimately, you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet our quality standards.
You will work closely with software engineers, and product managers to design, build, test and deploy solutions that enhance our products and services.
Key responsibilities:
- Manual testing of software applications and work with developers and business analyst to resolve bugs, issues and functional gaps.
- Initially the role will involve more manual testing as most of the applications are under development and eventually move towards automation of QA process and working towards creation and maintenance of regression test packs.
- Develop automated test scripts using automated tools such as Selenium, Cypress etc.
- Have a clear understanding of application design, data movement and business objectives towards client servicing and communicate effectively with business teams.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
- Record problems and issues in accordance with the project’s problem and issue management plans.
- Work with the application team to resolve any issues that arise out of the testing process.
- Participate in the release control process (when the application is transferred from the build team to the test team) to ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
- Manage Functional Manual Testing and business UAT testing and sign off.
- Experience in working with small group of Software tester (2-3) is a plus.
- Working experience with SQL Databases.
- Inform the test lead of any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process.
- Experience in testing applications with new age technologies like Gen-AI, Machine learning and data driven platforms and familiarly with Vector databases is an added advantage for this role and such candidates would be highly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Experience with performance and load testing and such testing tools like JMeter is highly desirable
Experience
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other relevant fields.
- At least 3+ years’ experience in Test Automation and any testing tool.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Rational Functional Tester (RFT)/any other such tool.
